I plan to go to Guntersville either Thursday or Friday. If weather report holds and warmer weather is there what does anyone suggest. Will the topwater bite be there? If so what do you throw? Is traps and jerk baits good choices? If so, what colors?
If the weather does warm up you should head shallow and watch your temperature guage as well as your depthfinder. You want warm water from 1-4 feet deep with new weed growth present. I would give the topwater bite a few more weeks since we've had this cold snap ... but you never know. I like chart/white double willow leaf spinnerbaits, suspending spots or 'traps in red or tequilla sunrise, Lucky Craft flash minnows in natural baitfish colors, C-rigged watermelon zoom lizards, weightless Yum Dingers in any of the watermelon shades, and of course a trusty jig 'n pig if you find fish next to a drop off. Good Luck!
