I like Pickwick for numbers of smallies and Wilson for quality smallmouth. Of the three lakes you picked, Wheeler is the best largemouth fishery. However, if you're looking for "heads" ... you should go to Guntersville.

Going down to the Wilson Wheeler and Pickwick lakes the 1st of June which lake would you pick to fish and why? Thanks in Advance for your input.

I agree with shadlips on Picwic for the smallies. I am not a live bait fisherman but if you are, I would try fishing a large monnow or shad about 6-8 inches off the bottom within 100yards each way of the bridges. About 10 to 20 ft deep I believe but haven't been there in a while.

I am going down to Pickwic later in July what would you say be a good starting point (never been on the lake)
