Fishing Tip of the Week Lake Guntersville
With the grass dying and turning black in many spots, and having many holes around the edges my tips this week will be to be aware of the grass especially in the mornings. Its time to get those trick worms out, and jerk baits and use the edges and holes around the grass mates to land the Guntersville prize. The rat bite will be around another month and the grass will get better and better for the “Rat.”
With the cool nights the mates will continue to offer great fishing on the edges, the bigger fish will move in as we get some cooler weather and the fishing should really pick up over this next week or so. While your using the jerk baits don’t give up on a “Ribbit and Pop-R” as we will continue to pick up some fish on these baits also.
The tough times will be as the sun comes up in the middle of the day but if you can find humps with grass under it about 3 feet you can pull a crank bait like a one minus or trap and catch fish all day long. The big fish will still be a little deeper look for obscure grass in 7 to 9 feet of water with just a little horseshoe or irregular edge and fish a big worm, swim it and drop it to the bottom and you should pick up some lunker bass.
I hope you have enjoyed reading my tip of the week, please contact me as I have open dates still available and would love to fish with you.
