I would not even consider it.
A storm can blow in so fast that you might not even have time to get to the trailer.
Bad idea!

Hello, looking to get some opinions from people with experience on Lake Erie to see if a 17' john boat would be safe enough to take out the big water. I realize common sense prevails, and to know when to put it on the trailer if it gets too rough. We're staying on the south side of Kelly's Island, targeting smallmouth and perch and don't plan on getting too far from shore. Any and all opions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, hope everybody has a good year!
Scott

Three words...DON'T DO IT!!!!
WOW I would if I was 5 to 10 feet off shore.... LOL
Thanks for the response guys. There are 2 other v-hull boats in our party, this extra boat would have been a luxury but think I'll keep it parked. I appreciate it.
