We're thinking about going on an ice fishing trip up north after the Holidays. Can anyone recommend a good place to go (MI, WI, MN, OH, etc.)? We are looking walleye and/or crappie and/or bluegill.
We don't have a bunch of gear for ice fishing so we'll be looking to rent the necesseties (ice house, auger, etc.) once we get there. We are even considering a guide service for the first day or so.
Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
Oneida lake in Central NY is one of the best walleye lakes in the country. I have been ice fishing on this lake and have seen people pull up some monsters. If you do not catch anything you are doing something really wrong. A recent study by Cornell University showed that this lake has more fish per-acre than any other lake in NY
