For anyone interested in fishing the USA Bassin trail, the classic location and dates have been announced:

:: Douglas Lake: Site of 2007 U.S.A. BASSIN Classic

Douglas Lake — all 28,000 acres of her — will be the site of the 2007 U.S.A. BASSIN Classic presented by Nitro, Tracker, Bass Pro Shops, and Mercury. It will be September 15 & 16 2007. It is estimated that over 200 teams be competing for the first place prize of a Nitro 591 with a 150HP Mercury Motor.

Douglas lake is noted for its extraordinary numbers of keeper size bass and its spectacular scenery. Located in east Tennessee on the French Broad River, the lake extends some 43 miles upstream from the dam. Add to that over 500 miles of fishable shoreline and it’s easy to see why everyone is excited about the change from Kentucky Lake.

And, the local Bass Pro Shop in Sevierville will be the host. Marlene Barber, Promotions Director, says, “We’re real excited to have USA BASSIN with us this fall. We like to support fishing and U.S.A. BASSIN is a fine organization.”

Tournament headquarters will be at the store. On September 14th a tent will be constructed in the parking lot for registration, dinner and, of course, the store will be open — all 130,000 square feet of it — for last minute purchases.

Barber promised to have her pro staff on hand to discuss navigation on the lake as well as local early fall bass patterns. And, keep in mind that nearly all of her employees fish so they’ll be able to help as well.
