Chattahoochee Help
I just discovered that the conference center I'm going to Sun-Tuesday borders the Chattahoochee just north of Atlanta. I may get to steal a couple of hours to wet a line (not sure yet)--fly fishing, that is
.
Is this a good time for wading? Any advice?

RE: Chattahoochee Help
Sorry this is too late for you, but next time you come to Atlanta, here is the scoop. The 'hooch is a year round trout stream below Lake Lanier. Most important is that you check the water release schedule, 770-945-1466, before going. River is way too high for fly fishing when they are generating. There are parks and access points from the dam all the way down to I-285. Stay north of Roswell, though. You will need waist waders, and will be fairly limited without a float tube. With a tube you can fish anywhere. Try Island Ford, near Roswell, Jones Bridge Park near Norcross, or the park at Buford Dam.

RE: Chattahoochee Help
Yeah, Go early and get the schedule for the water release from the dam (buford). Have fun.
