    Striper! I need help!!! Quick!!!!!

Just got a boat and want some of that striper action I've heard so much about. What kind of tackle (rod, reel, lb. test line to use), what is down rigging, ect...

Thanks in advance for any kind of advice!!

RE: Striper! I need help!!! Quick!!!!!

    Hi,
I can try to explain things to you all day and never be sure if you have a clue to what I am saying. It took me a dew years, a lot of broken rods, few stripped reels, and broken poles to figure out these monsters...My best advice to you is go to a bass pro shop, or Dick's sporting goods and ask them.. that way they can show you the stuff first hand and you can see what they are talking about. Second tip. Hire a Guide. A well known guide will help you and explain things to you as you are catching fish. Then you can add your own personal touch to spice things up just the way you want them. Best tip of all....
Set your drag at the end of the pole..!! not the reel..pull line out from the end of the pole by bending it over, this is where the fish pulls...get a good bend the line should come off the reel. as the fish wears down you can always tighten it a little.

A guide is a little money to put out... but in the long run the guide will save you a fortune!!!

    Best of luck
    Don
