Who makes a good youth rifle for deer hunting? I am looking for a 223 or 243 for my daughter. She is 10 and I have bought her a 22 with a scope to target practice and squrille hunt with and also get used to shooting with a scope. She is doing great with the 22, out shot 2 boys at our late youth hunt camp. Just wanted to know if anyone had info on this subject.
Thanks Joe

I actually have a 243. youth rifle. Got a few deer with it too. It shoots very flat and very accuratly. Mine's a Remington 700 youth model synthetic stock.
This gun doesn't have much when it comes to recoil, could set at the range all day if you wanted. I like the 100 grain Winchester Super X bullets myself, has all the punch you need for deer.
The youth NEF single shot is great for the money. I'm sure that other bolt actions are great ,but I personally didn't see spending that much for a youth rifle when a kid will quickly outgrow it.
I bought my son the NEF .243 when he was only 7, and since then he has harvested several deer with it. You can pick up a youth model .223 or .243 for under $200.
