Has anybody had a tree stand stolen before. My buddy and myself have had our tree stands stolen numerous of times. This year we had two stolen in one week. I would love to catch somebody in the act. We always lock them up, however, the theives just come back with a pair of bolt cutters. The sad thing is that it must be another hunter. Any ideas on how to prevent his on going problem.

The land we hunt is private. We just recently posted the land with signs, hopefully this will help.

Thats a shame that someone is tresspassing and stealing, I hope you catch them, I doubt the signs will stop them since they have already showed how brash they are in stealing your stands, having your land posted does give you more fuel to a tresspass charge in the courts though if you do catch them. Try using one of the game camera's that are on the market today.
Set it up twenty or thirty feet from your stand and with any luck you may catch them in the act! If you get them on film talk to all of your neighbors and see if anyone can I.D. them. If you do find out who they are, as much as I'm sure you would like to handle it yourself get the game warden and cops involved.
P.S. Hide your camera good or you might be out a stand and camera!
