First, I'm not familiar at all with Deer meat, but I did used to cut meat for a living many years ago.
If the meat was still frozen in the middle, and if the meat was still pretty cool, it is probably OK.
If it is like beef, the bad meat will turn dark, sometimes green, and be slimy and smell bad. Pork meat will also get very, very slimy as it spoils, and stink to high heavens. Chicken meat.... well trust me, you will know if it is bad.
Maybe by applying all those signs, you can make a determination.
However, my advice would be to throw it away. No since taking a chance on Botulism (?spelling---food poinsioning).
Good luck,
Tight lines and God Bless
