Now that I've got a boat I was wanting to get on the river this weekend around the Lexington area and fish some of the spots I couldn't get to when I was a bank runner. I've checked my Gazetteer but still had a couple of questions. Is there a ramp somewhere below Lock 7? I couldn't see any on the map all the way down to the HWY 68 bridge. Also, how's the ramp below lock 9 at the end of Tates Creek road? I heard that sometimes it's not safe to park down there. Anywhere else below lock 9 to put a boat in? Thanks guys, Ted

There is a Corp Of Engineers ramp just outside of Nunesuch Ky and another at Brooklyn Bridge on Hwy 68. Another at the Palisades Boat Dock but I dont know how to get there.
To get to the ramp at lock 7. From Lexington take US 68 South.
Then you will take Hwy 29 through Wilmore. Follow Hwy 29 to High
Bridge.(Approx 6 miles). Then you will make a right turn and go down lock 7 hill. At the bottom you will go through a set of stone pillers. The ramp is on your left.
As far as the ramp at lock 9, it is not very good. A better ramp will the on in pool 8( Hwy 39 ramp). To get there you will take US 27 south from Lexington to Nicholasville. Go downtown to the Court House. Make a left on Maple Street(Hwy 39, Follow it all the way to the river (Approx. 8 miles).
Hope this helps
