Agreed!... I would hope that the trend would extend into the weekend. How do you feel about Sat or Sun too late??

Thursday marks the third day of a warming trend...just ahead of a front that is supposed to be moving in during the latter part of the day on in to the night...plus we're three days behind the full moon (if it makes a difference)...sounds like good conditions to me...

I would say that Sat. or Sun. is too late it is supposed to be cold
I'd prefer Friday over Saturday or Sunday just because the water is still somewhat warmer immediately behind the front, in other words it hasn't had time to cool down yet. Of course all of this is relative to where you're fishing and what you're fishing for...as for myself I was thinking of taking a half day off today and hitting a 3 acre spring fed farm pond this afternoon...gotta see how the day shakes out first though.
February 16th was good! I took half a day off work and headed to the farm pond...I don't have a small boat of any kind so I always fish from the bank at this pond. I don't know what the water temperature was other than it sure felt cold to me...haha...anyway's, I caught one 2lb largemouth, one big ol' 14" crappie, two huge bluegill and a couple of other smaller crappie and bass...believe it or not ALL of these fish were caught on the same shallow running Rapala...
It's a spring fed pond and the first place I normally start is where the water runs in at. Fan casting and moving around along the bank in this area wasn't producing anything. So I did what I've often read about, I headed to another side where the wind was blowing into the bank...sure enough I started getting bit. And also, just like everything else I've read about cold water fishing, I slowed the retrieve down, WAY down...
That's just good, clean fun right there!
