I've caught a bunch of them at KY Lake. I think they're called pickerel (sp?).

Was bass fishing today at KY Lake on the LBL side near Colsons Bay. My buddy hooked 2 fish that looked like muskies. Both were in the 15-20 inch range and cut the line before we could net them. I am confident they were not grass pickerel as their snouts were not that elongated, but wondered if anyone ever catches any muskie in the lake. Several years ago I caught a similar fish in Rhodes Bay.

Are you sure it wasnt a gar?
pikerel had one yesterday in vickers
I seem to remember hearing of a muskie caught at Cypress several years ago, Dave Stewart may be able to confirm or refute this.
Muskie, if I remember correctly, have a much more rounded snout. Darrell, that fish you caugh had the elongated snout. The original poster said that the snout was not that elongated. So maybe....
I know once on Lake Malone I saw a pair of 36 inch fish swimming and they had that rounded snout. I'm pretty sure they were muskie. I don't know if there is a population of them there, or if someone just release a couple. I know I've not seen anymore, but then I rarely, EVER, went back to Malone.

May have been a short nosed gar. I have seen them at KY lake before. I was used to seeing the long nosed type on the Ohio river and never saw the short nosed one til I was at KY lake.
