Laurel River Lake Walleye

I am going to be at Laurel River Lake for a one night camping trip and would like to catch a walleye, since I have never caught one before. Could someone give me some tips on what to use to increase my odds? I will be fishing day and night and do have access to a boat (actually a fishing kayak, with electronics :)). Any info would be very appreciated.

Walleye are biting pretty good. If you can get access to drop lights you should be able to get shad up pretty easy. You can try using live bait off the bootom on main lake points or try jigging spoons. Worked pretty good for us last week. I am kind of new at it myself. Just be careful at night, there may be some tourny action going on over the weekend so be careful. Best action seems to be after midnight. Good Luck.

At night, find a long point close to a cove with standing timber. Throw suspending rougues or husky jerks (big ones) close to the bank and crank very (very) slowly throwing a twitch in every few cranks. A deep redfin cranked slowly works too. If you hear them busting the top, crank the redfin on top so slowly it stays and top and "wags". That's a blast.
