Salt River

Hello All
I LIVE IN SHEPHERDSVILLE ABOUT A MILE FROM SALT RIVER BUT I HAVE NEVER FISHED IT. DOES ANYBODY EVER FISH THERE AND IF SO WHATS BITING AND ANY OTHER INFO WOULD BE GREAT. ALSO WHERE IS THE BOAT RAMP IN WESTPOINT. THANKS

I personally have never fished the salt river. The boat ramp is located at right off Dixie highway where it passes over the salt river. Be advised though, the river flows through the Ft. Know military reservation, and a good portion of it is off limits. The only area of the salt open to the public from that ramp is just east of the ramp to where it flows into the Ohio, or approximately 1/16 mile.

I fish the salt river quite often. Mostly bank fishing with my buddies on tuesday nights. We have had the most luck fishing at KOA. That is where floyds fork runs into the salt and it can make for some nice fishing. If you have a small boat you can go out and catch just about anything.
