To bleed a bass, Fins the middle of the dorsal fins, where the hard spines meet the soft spines. (usually a bass out of water will lay down all of the hard spines leaving the soft ones mostly visible, upon finding the middle, draw an imaginary line from there to the anal opening, after this is established, count 3-5 scales below the lateral line and this is the insertion point.
