    Fall Break Fishing

I am teacher, next week I will be available to do some fishing. I am really looking forward to some time on the water. I fish Wilgreen in Richmond when time allows, because it is close to home. Does anyone have any other suggestions of places to fish that are close by that has been producing good catches of bass, bluegills or crappies.

Also any suggestions for the Fall bass bite? Thanks guys. This is a great board. I like reading your input.

I think you'll be hard pressed to do better than Wilgreen in that immediate vicinity. I know that the one time I actually fished there (May 04) I had a banner day for nice gills. Caught several bass as well with one that looked like it swallowed a football. The lake at Jacobson Park in Lexington is tough fishing but can yeild some brutes. I was fishing for bluegill there once and hooked a LM that had to be 20". Too bad the 4# line wasn't up to the challenge. I never had any decent luck at Ruth Lake. Hope you get some helpful info.
    Best of luck.

If you go to Jamestown make sure to go during the day. Night fishing is slow. Lake is clear and was 78 degrees on Saturday night (Oct 1). They are still pulling on it I think and it was at 697 feet above sea level when we were there. I think you could have some luck down there!!

Ever consider Corinth Lake? I have not been there in years but it's always been fun in the past for bass. I understand that the shellcracker bite can get pretty good as well. Pretty lake to fish.

Just north of Sadieville on 75. It's the lake you see with lily pads on your right as you drive north.
