What are some good lures to try for smallmouth bass during the winter months at some or our lakes in Kentucky (type, color, size, etc.)

It the creeks and lakes I fish the F-n-F..various colors.Anywhere from grey/blue to white with Chart Flash...
I also sling black/blue jigs(Buckeye) along with a selection of hand-tied hare jigs in craw patterns.

You will be able tp throw a spook until the end of December, if you like the top water action, But beware. Those schooling stripers will come up and give you the thrill of a life time.
Never overlook small crankbaits, such as bandit 200's, 300's and Norman Deep little N's and little n's. smallies will break your arm if you get into them.
Try the pockets. Cast to the back of small pockets and crank the sides. Even cast from the bank debris down the middle of those small pockets. They push shad up into those and could be anywhere in them.
Mid lake is the best area for those late November and December smallies. They stay active down to Temps of 48-50 degrees.
