    Truck Tents

Does anyone have one of the tents that attach to your truck? If so, what's your take on them? They are advertised in Bass Pro and look to be pretty handy.

Question about camping and charging batteries...

I've always loved camping, but I have yet to figure out how to recharge the boat batteries by camping. The only think I can think of is if I camp in a camp ground that offers electrical hook up, which with a tent, I really wouldn't want, or I could get a generator. I've always thought the sound of the generator running would ruin it for a lot of the fellow campers.

Those of you who camp, how do you handle it?

RE: Question about camping and charging batteries...

Good point Danny and I too have thought about that. But I'm thinking it sure beats sleeping on the ground. My old bones love to camp but they sure don't like the cold. If a boat can generate and charge your starting battery, why can't they come up with something to recharge your troling battery? Or have they?

I camp only where there is electric because of charging trolling motor batteries. At Lake Erie I have removed batteries and charged them in the fish cleaning houses on Kelley's Island.

Sorry dude, I did not mean to hijack your thread.

Hopefully this will move it back to the top. I too have wondered about those as well. I think, like you, it would be better to be off the ground as opposed to the ground.

While I was working, and had my last job, I did not mind camping at the local hotels!!! LOL

Now I am looking for ways to cut costs. Unless a great job comes back through!!! Then back into my hotel camping... LMAO

Not a problem. Like my wife said,--it aint camping unless it has "Holiday Inn" over the door. Good luck with your job hunt.
