Lake Cumberland -Stripers, Walleye,Smallies or Crappie?

Hi guys. I'm headed down to Lake Cumberland Oct. 27 - Nov. 2
and need advice. We are fishing with a guide for stripers on
Oct. 30th, but would like to try our hand at fishing on our own
the rest of time. By dilema is....what would I be better off fishing for on my own? I'd like to fish for walleye and smallies
but I also want to "catch" and just not fish if you know what I mean.
Can walleyes still be caught this time of year down at Cumberland?
If so where should I go to get the "best bite"? This is my first time (without a guide) fishing down there and don't know what region of the lake produces. I'll be staying at Grider Hill...so I'd prefer
to fish the Grider Hill to the dam area, but is that where the fish will be that time of year? Will the walleyes be on the main lake or back in the creeks? Will the walleyes hit on spinners or cranks or
should I find some shiners somewhere? Will they be suspended in the water column or on the bottom? How about the smallies?
Will they be on the main lake points that time of year or back in the
creeks? I'm gonna be totally screwed takin' the ole boat down there if I can't get some valuable info. from you guys. Need lure/bait,
structure and depth info. Please help! Thanks.

RE: Lake Cumberland -Stripers, Walleye,Smallies or Crappie?

I wish I was waiting one more week or so, but I am going tomorrow to Cumberland...rain, sleet or hail...so I wil give you a report when I return on Monday. My fishing buddy plans on cooking some good vegetable soup so we may stay warm. See you on the lake! We will be the boat with two hunched up old guys trying to keep the ice out our eyes.
