Grider Hill marina to be sold!

The only marina left on Lake Cumberland privatly owned and family run since day one is being sold. The deal should close in Dec.
Guide Lance Sasser who reports on this site is based there, Duayne and myself have our "Fish Camps" there, we have many freind's and fishin buddies down there.
My best wish'es to the Sloan family and thanks for all the memories.

Who is buying it? Is it going to stay the same or are the going to bulldoze it and make it something different? I don't know exactly where's it's at but I know nationwide marinas are being sold on great lakes like Cumberland and turned into other ventures.

This is new news to me. Since Grider Hill is a very large marina I would suspect that it is just a change of ownership. That place is huge. The no wake zone is a 1/2 mile long and they have 100-200 boats docked there year round.

R19 the number of slips is over 900+ :-)
Matt this includes Indian creek Lodge and rest. The cabins, condo type additions, The campground and the trailer park where I'm at. Of course there is a nice boat ramp and did I mention the Rental house boat fleet. I wo'nt speculate anymore on who the buy'ers are as I've heard a couple different versions.
I'm sure I've seen Plapp's Vehicles in the parking lot, they are hard to miss. Oh ask John about the place he is a buddie of my son and works for you :7

Dave, Tony will be missed by many down there, he did a nice job for folks. I can only hope you guys get somebody that doesn't try to re-invent the entire place. That new owner at Jamestown has got everybody over there in an uproar. Good luck maybe things will be o.k. :o

Dave, has it sold yet? Is it open for bid?

Just to clarify something, The Corp actually owns all the property. The slones own the rights to rent the property. This includes the camp Dave and I are in, and includes the camp grounds. Who ever purchases would purchase those rights but would still be bound by the Corp restrictions..

I thought they were close when I was down. On calm afternoons there was enough bait on the surface to walk across. I guess I missed it by a few days this time...
