24 Volt versus 36 Volt Trolling Motor

Was looking at possible switching from a 12/24 Volt Motor guide Trolling Motor to a 107lb 36 Volt Trolling Motor. Is it very hard to
upgrade the existing wiring for this. Any advise would be appreciated.

I have had both and I liked the 24 better. I now have the 36V Motor Guide. I don'tuse the 36 much at all. The only time I use it is when I want to cut across the creek. Other guys who fish main lake (KY or Cumberland) in high wind may use it more than I do. Hope this helps. Ryan.

One of the other times when you need the 36 volt is if you are fishing a river, and you fish during high water and really strong current.

I have the 24 volt, 74 lb. thrust and I fish KY/Barkley a lot, and it is only occasionally that I wish I had the 36 volt. I really don't think the benefit I would get would justify the cost, but hey, if you can afford it, and you want it.... enjoy it!!

I have the 36v motorguide and wouldn't have anything else. I wish they made 48v. The 36 volt will last all day and into tomorrow.

One of the reasons I want it is to troll and pull planer boards for strippers. I've got a 24 volt on my 21 ft Statos and though the 36 would hold up longer. I've not got everything together yet but am working pretty steady towards it. I guess my real question is , is the 36 hard to wire up in place of the 24. Any suggestions on my battle gear for the stripers?

48 volts is on the way boys... Almost there on cordless tools, why not trolling motors LMAO. More batteries = more weight= Mo money, Mo,money.. What I'm waiting for is 500 H.p motors with a 9.9hp foot controlled T.M So go with the 36, power is their if you need it.
