I've seen 2 Smallies in past 3 years at T-ville. The best smallie lake in the Area is Dale Hollow or Cumberland.

green has a good supply of them small jaws i caught bunches from 10 in to 4lb this past summer,if you use grubs you can get a bonus walleye and nice crappie.look for tyupical smallie stuff and start at about 15 ft and go deeper til you get them, last winter when the water hit 42 i found them consistently hanging from 20-30ft useing 1\8 oz
21\2 in grubs.i wonder too if the float and fly works very well there?

    whisker,

i havent fished green river before, and i new to smallmouth fishing. grew up catching largemouth..

Green is probably closest for me with the execption of the river,, but i have no idea how to attack that right now for smallies.

I have a garmin gps, but im not real familiar with it. Do you recommend looking for the fish on sonar, or fish the heck out of the main lake points.

    I would appreciate any input.

if you go specifically for smallies fish the bluff walls and look for
anything that makes a transition in the wall, little cuts or rocks that have fallen in,you need a shelf in the depth range they are holding at,i have had real good luck where the bluffs turn to broken rock or gravel or even dirt,if the jigs don't produce use a splitshot and larger crappie minnows.send me an email and i can tell you a few specific places stratos29596@yahoo.

i have done very well in green river state park it just me a while to learn to catch'em. also you can put in at the green river marina and there are plenty of good starting points. if you keep a good size spinner bait or stick bait and get a musky this time of year.
