    Stephen Forbes Lake

    Guys,

Any recent reports from Forbes. I really like the lake for bass fishing. Have been there a couple of times, but always seem to hit muddy, cold water. Any help with current conditions and tactics would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. This board has been awful quiet lately. Since I asked for help, I guess I should give a report. Last week I took the day off and fished Kinkaid. Took me all day to figure it out. Tried where I thought they should be based on time of year and conditions. Water was 61-70 degrees (70 in very back of shallow coves in no-wake late afternoon). Finally, out of frustration, I positioned the boat in 4-6 feet of water on rocky shoreline and began cranking. First fish was a very fat 5# walleye. In the next 2.5 hours, I caught and released 12-15 bass up to 3.5# and lost at least 2 other keepers. Bumping bottom and/or wood triggered strikes. Have fun.
