    Gizz-4 crank bait

Recently I've been readiing several reports from the mid-south that mention the Gizz-4 as an effective lure for striper. Of course I had to buy one but it hasn't seen water yet. Anyone had any experience with the lure; if yes, what do you think? Thanks.

I was wondering the same thing. Should be a great bait for any fish that feeds on shad. I had to buy two! I was told to make it run shallower than 4' to file down the bill. Let me know how it works for you.

    Question Using the new Gizz-4

Has anyone had any success with the new Gizz-4 on fish other than stripers? If so, how did you fish it?

I caught a 4 pound smallie on my first cast with one. I'll qualify that by saying that I saw the fish working off a point and cast into his area last fall. Three twitches and I got to see the fish hit the bait. Pretty kool stuff. It runs a little shallow to cast Cumberland with on a regular basis, but it will work if you can get the fish to come to you. I trolled them with no success at that time. But the stripers weren't even hitting live bait being trolled then. I think they are working on a deeper version.

They are working on a deeper version.....the Gizz 4 works very very very very well on the stripers...I've caught many in the jumps and trolling them

Same as gar, could never buy just one of any bait, so I've got 2 still in the packs. Best looking bait I've seen in a while.

I've bought over a dozen of them in different colors....given some away as gifts. Let me say this....they catch everything that swims....especially the stripers. I catch them casting and trolling. These baits are unbelievable. I've already caught 3 over 20 lbs and a ton of fish in the 15-19lb range.

You have any problems with the stock hooks? I've thrown one at night some with no success yet. Sort of worried about those hooks being a little on the light side for stripers.

Haven't had a problem yet. When you catch a striper on the Gizz 4, it will not be hooked in the lip...LOL..they try to swallow them, so the hooks hold very well. Usually all you can see is the lip of the bait when the fish comes to the top.

Any color your favorite? I bought the one with a slight green cast to it.

Smack Tackle; I think you have to buy direct from them. They have a web site.
