the best luck I have had on Old Hickory has been with Rat-L-Traps in the Smoky Joe color. See the link below.

I've been on Old Hickory twice in late spring early summer and will be going in June this year. I was a Lucky Dog on my last trip when the Bass pushed the shad to the surface close to the point I was on and filled my limit in 5 Minutes. So other then luck what works for the guys that fish it often. I'm not lookin for your spots just lures or patterns. If it was Ky lake I'd be hittin the ledges. We will be stayin in Henderson and with gas prices I don't want to run alot. Thanks Guys.

I fished Old Hickory a few weeks ago and did pretty well on a new lure called the Gizz 4 made by Smacktackle. Check out their webiste at http://www.smacktackle.com/. I used the Black Pearl. It is a great shad imitation. Good luck!
Not much good here. I've only been there during pre spawn and late summer/fall. My guess would be that a lot of the fish will still be shallow and transitioning out to deeper water. I would start about mid creek hitting boat docks or the bends in the channel in the larger creeks and work my way out to deeper water. Some of the larger creeks also have grass(of some sort) that will produce most of the day, but best in the morning. As far as lures go... tex rigged tubes, cranks and c-rigs. I'll have a buzzbait tied on most of the day as well. good luck

Hey Jerry; You still planning on coming to dale in the morning. I live about 30 minutes from celina, and the sky is pretty bright back that way with the lighting. Local weather is showing some strong storms coming this way from Nashville. It is doing alittle raining here now, but not much, but alot of wind. Torando warnings are in effect for southern counties in lower Tn. along the Alabama line. Local weather says about 30 percent chance of rain tomorrow, with rains ending up in the morning with a high around 54...Roger
