Being in the throes of a serious case of Fishing Pox, I was surfing the net, hungrily searching for fishing sites, when I went and checked out the site for Louisville's Urban Fishing Program:

I've been a fan for a while. I'm not far from Miles Park, and especially in the month or so right after they stock the trout, it's pretty easy (not to mention FREE) to pop over there and catch a limit in an hour or two. I knew they had put fingerling largemouth in there, but I was blown away when I discovered this. This is a cut/paste from the site: "In September and October 2006, hybrid striped bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, and trout were stocked into all five urban fishing lakes." Now I love the idea of being able to bank fish for hybrids 10 minutes from my house, but aren't these impoundments way too small for them? Tom Wallace Lake is only 5.5 acres, and #4 at Miles Park can't be much, if any bigger.
I live in Independence and heard about this too. Might be a good time to break-out the fly rod... not sure how well they'll cope though.
