HELP. Also how is the crappie fishing on Watts Bar around the end of the month, 25-29th. What can we expect as far as patterns or good areas to fish? Will they be done spawning?

My dad, 78 years young, my brother and myself are looking to stay for 4 days or so on Mid Lake to the dam on Watts Bar Lake in mid April. We need to know where to stay on the lake in this area that has nice cabin or rooms, covered boat slips, fish cleaning area, good security. We have stayed at Arrowhead, Rhea Harbor, Eden and Spring City resorts but it has been 5 yrs ago. Any suggestions on these or any other places to stay for some crappie and bass fishermen? We need to make reservations soon if you can help us out.
Thanks,
Bassky

Bassky ...... I think the Black Crappie will be finishing up, by the end of April - but, the White Crappie should be coming in. April Crappie fishing at WB, is usually mostly shooting deep water docks for Black Crappie. Late April into mid May ... White Crappie should start coming to the shallow wood/brush and shallower water docks.
You've already got my reply to your lodging & fishing techniques question, over on Crappie.com !!

I have been going to Watts Bar since I was a small child. We always go to the same place in Spring City.. The place is called Piney Point Resort.. I'm not sure who owns it now, I think it changed hands a few times since I was a kid, but it's still called Piney Point and can be found on web with price list.. I love this place for all the memories, and hope to get back this summer..
I have stayed there before. Probably about 20 years ago. We are staying at Spring City Boat Dock cabins over by Rhea Harbor and the lumber mill, one cove over. Are you willing to give up any crappie holes around the Piney River area?
Thanks,
