    Gobblers

Anybody heard any birds gobbling yet? I am going scouting this weekend and just trying to get an idea of what to expect. I did see a solitary hen a few days ago, soit looks like the flocks are splitting up.

Hey Tim I'm still seeing lots of Flocks grouped by s e x so shooting a Tom should not be a problem if you get the right flock to come in. Where you hunting?

Hey Jerry, I am hunting some private land in Taylorsville, near the lake but past Briar Ridge road. I also have about 44 acres in Colesburg, that borders Ft. Knox. I am planning on going out Monday morning before daylight and listening for birds to gobble. Just trying to get my son his first bird on Easter weekend which is the youth hunt.

    Re: Gobblers

I heard a gobbler last week while I was at the lake. He gobbled once at 3pm then one more time 20 minutes latter. I have been seeing several birds strutting in fields on the way to work. I know they are gobbling some because one of them was close enough to the road that I saw him come out of strut with his head reach out and rolled off a gobble. If I would have had my window down I could have heard him.

Driving between Paoli and French Lick Indiana yesterday and saw three hens in a field with a gobbler in full strut. Couldn't concentrate on anything else the rest of the way home LOL.

Heard one Sat. while fishing at T-Ville he propably gobbled for a good 2 hours, and heard one this morning behind my house, too bad the cold weather coming in is going to slow em down for the youth hunt this weekend.

Yeah this weather doesn't look good. Plan on taking my son this weekend to try and get his first turkey. I am afraid this cold front may shut them down, but we are going to give it a try on Saturday morning.

Two weekends ago down around Cumberland I honestly almost got tired of listening to them. They were really carrying on.........
