starter problem

thanks in advance for any advice......In a nut shell, I turn the key the starter will spin but the drive gear will not move to engage the flywheel. Battery has been checked and is full charge....starter is only 2 yrs old....could this be a problem at the solinoid? And if so who does one go about trouble shooting this kind of prob. ?

Try using some silicone, worked for me

Well i worked on it most of the day finaly found the problem....I just had'nt spent any money on the boat this yr and after a trip to parts store and a 158.00 smackers later she runs like a dream. Oh well its only money...be safe and plenty of thight lines to all
