Looks like a bow, but the red spots are typical of a brown.
Some browns tend to loose their tint when removed from the water.
Where did you catch it? What was your bait?

How far below 61 bridge were you? Did you catch any stripes? Any other bites? I fished below 61 bridge with shad last year my first time with no luck.
Thanks for the update. Great catch!
Brown Trout! Definitely.
It is a little hard to see by the photo but I say Bow. browns have brown spots with an orange circle around the spots when they get big. Bows have a black spot pattern. I have caught ,although not that big; Rainbows as far dowm the lake as the Reactor on crankbaits at the hill. The TWRA sticks so many in the river that soem are sure to make it down into the lake. I have caught Rainbvow at Tellico as far down as the dam. I was opn the river about a week ago and every 12+ trout we caught was a brown, Fish2win
How's it going fish2win? Are you enjoying the early morning smallie topwater bite? I just wanted to comment that I have caught rainbows BELOW Melton Hill Dam. It only happened one year, but a buddy of mine caught one a couple of years ago when he was sauger fishing. I caught one on a blue and chrome Redfin while striper fishing! The fish wasn't much bigger than the bait.
