Where to take my son Blue Gill fishin

My Son has an opportunity to fish with me this Saturday. Where would you suggest I take him Bluegill fishin? We live in Louisville and have a boat.

My thoughts are Taylorsville, Guist, Hardy Lake I have always wanted to fish Jerricho but I have a 35 hp motor.

If he had more time I would go to Lake C.

You guys know more than I what are your suggestions, thanks

Try Guist, there is some really good bluegill fishing to be had there. Take my daughter out there from time to time and she slays them.

    Keep on chuckin'

Haven't been to Jericho in a long time but you can use your boat, its idle only. They have a lot to offer for kids check out the link below for more information about the lake and fees. Good luck and be safe... BTW I've always had good luck there, you can also fish the spillway.

Wilgreen in richmond is far but is one of the best blugill lakes in the state of Kentucky, its less than 200 acres and is idle speed only.

If you are fishing from a boat I would fish the Green River (Houchens Ferry) at Mammoth Cave National Park. About two miles down the Green is where the Nolin River joins the Green. You could go up the Nolin River also. About three miles or less down river from Houchens Farry is a dam. You do not want to go there at all.

    Have fun,

Lake Shelby in Shelbyville would be a great place to take him. It's about 30 minutes from the Gene Snyder. There is a small launch fee and while your near the bird refuge it is no wake but the creek goes way back and is some great fishing.
