Dunno if this helps or not, but I'd figured I share it with the rest of these knuckleheads.. LOL

Just curious if anyone has fished any wading areas in Elkhorn, Stoner, or the Licking in the last couple of weeks. Any smallmouth info would be great!
thanks

We never made it. The other guys weren't too keen on spending a 1/2 day freezing their butts off... lol
Looks like I'm hittin Destin in July....burnin my butt off!!!And Boubon see if ya can get some go devils(hellgromites) spelling? and fish below the ripples at Elkhorn!!!
I took my son to Elkhorn for a couple hours last Friday. They were bunched up in the deep holes, caught about a dozen. No hawgs, but they were very active. Water was warm enough for my son to swim.
JCB,
Did you go today with your kids? How did you do? I agree with you about the water temp. It was warmer than I expected yesterday... Did your son swim on purpose or fall in 8 times like I use to do when I was a kid?
Scott, it's 10:00 AM Friday and I'm trying to convince myself it's warm enough to go. When I take my son, he swims on purpose. I try to find him a nice hole that shallows up downstream so if he gets in the current he can just go with it and then stand up. Still, I never get too far from him.
Water temp may be fine, but man that is some c-o-o-o-o-l-d air right now...
Ended up going from noon to 3 PM. Took my son, who is a novice, and my nephew, who is a beginner. I was able to hook both of them up with a couple 13-14 inchers, and my nephew with a nice 15" largemouth. They had a blast.
I also caught about a 4 lb. cat on a nightcrawler and had a blast with a 6-7 pound drum that I let the kids take turns fighting.
All the smallmouth we caught were in current, the deeper the better. The creek is way down, that little bit of rain we had didn't do a thing where I was (main fork).

We had a LM 4lb 10oz out of the 23 we caught Saturday morning up on the North Fork at the Farm Stretch. Water temps was about 64 degrees.

Billy,
What was the water level where you were?
