    6/20/07 Beshear's Creek

Went out again today and this time I went up the Creek and only fished for about 1 hour and 45 minutes. I caught 17 fish today and my oldest son caught 1 and lost 1 more.

    Fish count:

    10 Small Mouth - Biggest 14 1/4" long

4 Goggle Eyes / Rock Bass biggest 5"

    2 Sunfish Biggest about 4"

1 White Bass close to 11"

Looks like this will be my primary fishing location for a while, going to let the lakes cool off a bit before I hit them again.

I fish Hickman Creek alot in Jessamine county, it is an unknown smallie haven. My brother lives right on the creek and owns both sides, about 10 acres worth. Anyway, the small white 'gitzit' tube on 4lb test works great. Also a texas rigged 4 inch lizard in black, green or brown - 1/32 oz bullet sinker and 1/0 or 2/0 hook.

Thanks for the info there Cajun78, always looking for more info on what the creek fish are biting. I caught all of mine today on a 2" Chartreuse curly tail grub on a beetle spin fished as slow as you can go.

Then why do I live in Greenville, IN about 100 miles away and know about it? It's known, believe me, and you guys aren't doing anything to help keep it unknown that's for sure.

I guess we'll have to add it to the agenda at the next pre-game conference.

I have a spot that I go to that in my first trip there on the 2nd cast I caught a 15" smallie on the ultra-light using a rebel wee craw. I'm dying to throw the plastics but I have had such good luck w/ the craw that I can't make myself switch. Cuaght some Sauger outta there too which was a surprise. This creek has now become my favorite to fish. I am sure there are others out there, but why let go of a good thing? Going there this evening to throw some buzzbaits as the evening temps have been fairly nice lately despite the warm afternoons.
