    1st Annual Richard Lawson Memorial Tournament

    We are putting on a memorial tournament for Richard Lawson, who passed away last winter. We are expecting a pretty good turnout so come join the fun on this great day. You can check out all the details at http://rlmemorial.tripod.com/index.html

    The 1st Annual Richard Lawson Memorial Bass Tournament

    Saturday September 15, 2007

    7:00 am to 3:00 pm

    Registering will start at 5:30 am (Cash only)

    Morse Reservoir Noblesville Indiana

    $25.00 per person $5 of that goes for Big Bass

    100% pay out 1st 60% 2nd 30% 3rd 10%

    Big Bass Will pay one place, it's also sponsored by Gander Mtn.

    Door prizes will be given out after weigh-in

    There will be a $11.00 ramp fee paid to the ramp attendant the morning of the tournment.

    Tournament Rules

    1. There will be a 5 fish limit per boat.
    2. Fish must be alive and be at least 14 " in length.
    3. You must bring your fish to the scales before you load your boat.
    4. Short fish and dead fish will be weighed and their weight deducted from your legal catch.
    5. All DNR rules and regulation must be obeyed, Violators will be disqualified.
    6. All live wells must be checked by a tournament worker before you launch your boat.
    7. You must stay at least 50 yards away from other participants, whether anchored or not.
    8. You may not use any form of dead, live, or prepared bait, the only exception being trailers made from pork.
    9. You must remain in your boat at all times, you may not leave your boat to land a fish, however you may get out to retrieve a lure that is lodged or to use the rest room.
    10. The area between the two docks adjacent the launch ramp, is off limits.
    11. Starting positions will be determined by blind draw the morning of the tournament.
    12. You must be inside the idle zone at the launch ramp by 3:00 pm or you will be disqualified.
    13. Absolutely no alcoholic beverages before or during tournament.

    It will be $50 a boat entry fee with 10$ of that going to big bass.

    I would think it would be better to make it an annual event and pay out 70% at the ramp and create a scholarship fund or something with the 30% of the purse remaining. That is usualy how a benefit works, or give the money to his surviving spouse/children? Just a random thought. Beleive me, I don't think participation will drop off by paying 70% and the rest for the mentioned method listed.
