Got out this morning for a lil wading. Water was probably the lowest i have fished it this year, just about gin clear... WARM. Had the tube tied on to start the day and caught a few, first couple pools were pretty slow. Never had any luck on the topwater baits but decided to give a new one a shot... hold on. they were crushing this bait, the bite only lasted for two pools but in those caught 10 between 12.5 and 15.5, and had many more that were interested. I'm hooked on that.
When they stopped slammin me i went back to soft plastics and caught a few more 13" on a craw type bait.
Wasn't long before the tube made its way back on and continued to catch fish the rest of the day including a fat 16.5" nosed up in a riff.
Most of the fish were in the cool current behind riffs or in the shade near the bank.
Partner and i caught over 60 and a third were over 12". had a great day.
The Gar were very active today and saw more than ever, some real big ones too.

Thanks I'm definatly going to get back to wading the creeks. It's been awhile but some times you can't beat it.
Nice report.
We decided to try some new water or it sounds like we would've probably been in the same area,,,,LOL!!!
We put in about 6:20am ourselves. We paddled upstream and caught 8 fish. Biggest was probably about a 2lb LM that ate a buzzer. Fished about an hour and ran into the muck line...
When the creek gets some rain we're going back..
