How did you all do? What won?

Now I remember why I don't fish on holiday weekends!!
Just got home from fishing the Nolin Saturday morning, Wax Tournament with EtecRanger. The lake was smooth as glass at 7 AM when we started and headed towards the **** end of the lake. However, the longer we were on the water the more boats, of every type, and jet skiers, etc. came on the water also. By 1230 when we headed back to the ramp, all of the waves and boat traffic made it feel like we were riding the rollercoast at Coney Island--up, down, sideways right and sideways left, and a few gyrations I can't even discribe.
The only thing that surprised me was that, back at the ramp, there wasn't too long a long of a line on the ramp and there were even some open parking places in the lot, but there were vehicles and trailors all over the upper lot and on the road.
And, just think that when we left, the holiday weekend was really just getting started--and NOW I REMEMBER WHY I DON'T FISH ON HOLIDAY WEEKENDS.

PS: I really enjoyed the morning anyhow.

We caught a few 12 to 15 inchers and lost several good ones. We didn't stay for the final tally.
Grumpy.
Grumpy,
I went to Jet-A today and picked up my boat. We didn't go out on the water for the very reason you described. We went past the EddyCreek bay around 9:30 AM for the last time, and it was still very smoothe, but we must have past over 100 boats of all makes headed for the big lakes. I'm talking bassboats, pontoons, jetboats, cabin crusisers, and those huge cigarette boats. man I'm glad I was not out there this afternoon trying to fish!!
Danny
we fished the night of the 11th and was in the river up by sportmans and they were skiing by 8am.
Ky lake was a mess this weekend. I think the house boats were out in force trying to burn the remaining fuel for the season. I was off the water by 11 a.m. every morning.
