I am going down to Dale Hollow Oct.30th. Usually stay at Cedar Hill. What boat ramps will be usable?
Cedar hill should be open as well as plesant grove park next door...their ramp goes out a good ways in the water. Let us know how you do..been wanted to hit the hollow day bite myself since the nights have cooled down some.
They are all open all year. I like Pleasent Grove....instead of goin' on down the hill there at Cedar, just bare to your right and it's not 300 yds away
I was down on the 24th and the Obey River TWA ramp was usable. A guy that was putting in while I was taking out said that he tried 2 other ramps that didn't have enough water to launch. I read where Star Point was dumping gravel to extend their ramp. It's going to get tougher, if the water to continues to drop.
going to get interesting...how 'bout the Corps rapm at Sunset ????
Dover,
I think what you're calling the corp's ramp at Sunset and what I called the Obey River TWA ramp are one in the same. Turn left to go to Obey, turn right to go to Sunset, correct? I launched there fine on the 24th, but have never seen it that low. It's a single lane ramp now. Once you back down the ramp, you have to cut it to the right a little at the bottom in order to stay in the center (that is your right while sitting in the vehicle)
I did notice that the ramp that is closer to the office at Sunset was barricaded, not sure about the 2nd one. We need some rain in Tennessee, badly.
Don't know about the upper end of the lake but, Pleasent Grove, Cedar Hill, Dale Hollow Marina, Horse Creek and most all down by the dam side are good all winter
