Preliminary Stage Only - Approval has been granted by the Corp Of Engineers (COE) to enlarge, enhance, redo the ramp, install floating docks, and create more parking area at Craigs Creek by the Markland Dam of the Ohio River. Starting date in 08 ???? What I'm wanting to know is "What would it take for you to hold your tournament here"? Please be specific.
Planning Stages - Warsaw KY has a beautiful area on the Ohio River to hold tournaments. There's a new 2 lane ramp that was built last summer for the Champ Boat Race. Yes it needs an upstream wing wall to prevent siltation of the ramp. Yes it needs floating docks. Again "What would it take for you to hold your tournament here"? Please be specific.
Information received will be presented to the City of Warsaw and Gallatin County KY Tourism Bureau.
Please email recommendations, thoughts, ideas to me. In the subject line please input TOURNAMENTS.
Thank You
Steve

more fish would help from what everyone says about the river, seems about like making a super wal mart with out adding stock.
Decent Restroom Facilities would be a boom to the area. Don't set up two or three Port-A-Potty's for the men and women to use.

What I look for is (in this order) #1) anglers that want to fish the location #2) a good ramp #3) good parking #4) floating docks for anglers to tie up to in the morning and at weigh-in.
On Nov 5th a presentation was made to the Gallatin County Tourism Board and was received with very positive results. The next thing on the agenda is to contact the Kentucky Department of Fish & Wildlife Resources. I will be working with both the City of Warsaw and Gallatin County to "Get the ball rolling." We all know how fast the government works so don't look for miracles over night. Unlike other tourism projects this one will take very little leg work from the local officials. It's people like US that need to push the buttons to place something like this in motion. It's one of the benefits we receive from paying or taxes, buying licenses, and voting.
