Dang turkeys is right. I called in 3 different groups the other day and they "made me" in the tree. I also got two bowshots off at the same gobbler, but just high. Did find both of my arrows though. Seems to be plenty of brids this year.
I was settling in at my ground blind I had spent days working bit by bit.. when 2 guys decide to rabbit hunt..OK not supposed to be there, but since they are friends of the guy who runs cattle I dealt with it and moved.
I heard Turkeys further back on the farm and moved within about 150 yards and started some light calling. All of a sudden I hear a shot near me. I cringe, look around and the Turkeys are still calling, so I call some more. When they shot a second time I had to move again. Turkeys called till I got around on the other side and shut up.
I can find them, know where they are most of the time, but darn I can not get them in Crossbow range to save me. ( I have a disability permit to hunt during bow season, but only hunt from October on)
