Folks around here call it the Dead Sea. Because of the extreme drought we've experienced the past few years, it is 20-25 feet below fool pool now. It's got some good spotted bass, but they can be very hard to catch. It also has a big striper population, which may explain why the other species don't do as well. Many of the tourneys held there are won with 10-14 pounds of bass. It's about 24 miles from my house in Arab but Guntersville is only 11 miles from my house, so guess where I spend most of my time fishing? In Guntersville, a 20 pound sack usually won't even get you a little check in a tourney. Guntersville is only 30 miles or so from Cullman, so plenty of folks from that area travel to the big G to fish.
