How do you fish for paddlefish?
nice fish some fine catches there
Snagging, Which in Ky. opened Feb.1 and closes May 10th. except below Ky. and Barkley which is open year round. Snaggimg in Ind. is now illegal. I use a 12 ft pole or larger with at least 50# test one large treble hook and most of the time 5oz river sinker below the hook. I rap the linearound the shaft of the treble hook until it's right under the hook., or just Buy the hooks with the weight already on them. This is what I use but I'm sure others do it differently, it's always worked for me...Chuck
are they good to eat? How do they fight?
Yes , They are excellent table fair! The meat is white and they have no bones. They have cartalage. The fillets are huge. As far as the fight, if you can imagine hooking a 40lb fish in the side or the tail and reeling it in heavy river current then you will get an idea of what its like when you hit one. The regs have changed this year to a two fish limit in Ky., and it is illeagal to snag in several states and behind dams in Ky any more due to abuse of our resourse by a few bad eggs.
