I saw a story in the Indiana Buisiness Journal that Cabelas will be suspending further store development. Due to the economy and other factors all development is put on hold. Including the Greenwood store where work has started.

Cabelas does not market as much as Bass Pro Shops.
I get many BPS catalogs in the mail. Almost too many of them. They are expensive to get rid of.
While cabelas send a catalog only if I ask for one.
Bass Pro Shop swamps me with invitations to buy from them. Cabelas doesn't do much to market to me.
So it's not a surprise that Cabelas is not expanding and BPS is.
I should buy more stuff from Cabelas and stop spending money with BPS as I would rather not be bothered with so many different types of catalogs from BPS.
Catalogs are based on spend. I get a ton on catalogs from both. I get a hard cover catalog from cabelas that is awesome. Spend a little more with cabelas and you will get a catalog a week.
It is a shame that this store has been delayed. It would be a help to the to the economy. Cabelas is a much better total outfitter in my humble opinion having a much better hunting selection. Don't get me wrong, bass pro gets a strong portion of my bonus check every year, but if cabelas does end up in town that all might change. Driving 15 miles would be a lot better than running down to clarksville all the time.
just an opinion though, I am sure some one will get pissed and say bass pro is so much better
