Just wondering what your opinion of a "trophy largemouth" is around this area?
I'd say anything in the double digits!!!
I have never caught one over 7. Had severaly right on the verge of it. I thik anything much over 7 or 8 is a "trophy"
7 pounds, you hear of a decent amount of 6#'s but not a lot of seven plus fish.
Double digits would be sweet!
i think i agree with 7 and over...ive caught one a lil over 7 so i geuss i have officially caught a trophy
I have had only 3 over 7lbs. in all of my years of fishing in KY. Biggest was 8.22 at KY Lake in 1992, A 7.50 at Rough in the mid 90's and a 7.09 at Guist Creek in 97.
I had what appeared to be about a 7-8 lber at Barkley about 2 years ago, but we never weighed it----straight back in as we were pre-fishing for a tournament.
Other then that----no bigguns for me for a while.
Depends on which area of the state you live in or which lakes you fish. Down here on Ky Lake my rule of thumb for "trophy" is 8lbs plus.
I caught my 7+lber on ky lake the first night we were there along with plenty of 5s and 3s..that lake is amazing
I think it depends on which state the fish is caught in. For Ky i think a 8lb LM would be a trophy.
I would have to agree on the 7-8 lb range. At least in Kentucky.
I feel that a trophy is the biggest you have caught to date. Ask a 5 year old who just caught his first 12" bass what is a trophy and see what kind of answer you get.
