If you are just enlarging a slot that is already where you want it, a dremel tool is your best bet. Use a ball shaped bit and take your time.

What is the best way to modify a mold. I am just wanting to make my spot for my weedgaurd bigger (enough to fit pins so I can do the weedgaurd later). After several weeks of experimenting - I have found it is next to impossible to get a good coat of powder coat that is as durable as those baked at higher temps. I finally got it where I can bake them with the weedgaurd, using some alluminum foil (thick wrapped) so that it won't make the gaurd wavy. This is a hassle, and I have found that the paint is not near as durable as the ones I made without the weedgaurd.
I have a friend that is pouring with the pins, painting, baking then gluing in the weedgaurd. I did a batch with him and it was way easier - and once set, his epoxied weed gaurds were almost as hard to pull out as my poured ones. His mold came with those, but were different type jigs than mine. I have access to an abundance of high tech tools, and even more importantly, people that know how to use them. What would be the best way to fatten my slot for the weedgaurd so I can use some sort of pins??

I like to use a rattail file. It is a little slower than a dremel but there is fewer mistakes. If you do take too much out you can use a little J.B. Weld to fix it. Good luck Ryan.
Thanks, I will give it a try.
