    trolling motor batteries

Has anyone used energerizer deep cycle batteries from Sam's ? I have a Triton SF 18 and I need to replace my batteries . I had Deka DC27's that lasted about 3 years. I have a 24 volt Motorguide trolling motor . I can get the Sam's batteries for $65.00 each and the Deka's are $85.00 each . Thanks for any advice .

    Re: trolling motor batteries

I have one in a boat I bought last year that has a 2003 sticker on it. I don't know how they kept it going for 5 years but it was as strong as any that I added to the boat. I just bought two more at Wally world last week. I looked at the BPS brands and the Optima battery but for the price at Wally world and the warranty for me this will be the batteries in my boat. I have for years bought off brand batteries from a small shop in town. They are good but I have had several that the caps leak when the battery is moved. I am tired of that and the Walmart battery has never leaked. I looked at the optima battery but I can't allow myself to pay for it. I can buy several years worth of the Walmarts for the price of the Optima.
