WRBM Rookie Wins at White River

Indianapolis, In by Ben Dietzal
March 31, 2008

White River Bass Masters rookie Steve Haas won in his first ever tournament fishing with the club this past Sunday on the White River’s Broadripple pool. Steve’s partner John Green netted 2 fish for Steve that combined weighed 8.5 pounds including a 4.9 pound largemouth. In a day that saw tough conditions with the river high and muddy most boats spent their time in the slack water areas. Bill Morrison took second on the day with a nice smallmouth weighing 3.8 pounds while Rick Goodyear finished in 3rd with a single largemouth that tipped the scales at 2.94. Dave Replogle finished fourth with a single largemouth weighing 1.42 pounds. Tim Denny rounded out the top 5 and was the only other angler to catch a keeper with a largemouth that weighed in at .8 pounds. On a side note, WRBM Alumnus Todd Irwin’s record for smallest legal bass ever weighed in at .69 pounds is safe for now.

Season Points Standings:

Steve Haas 109
Bill Morrison 102
Rick Goodyear 101
Dave Replogle 98
Tim Denny 97
All Others 50
