(first post here) Whenever I go fishing, I catch very few if any fish. The sad part is, I try it all. Every bait or lure I can get my hands on. Night crawlers, earthworms, minnows, crickets, wax worms, stink baits, dip baits, doughbaits, buzz baits, spinners, poppers, divers and texas rigs. I try the attractants and I read tips and books and watch the TV shows. I still never catch anything. It wouldn't be so bad if the people I went fishing with didn't catch them while using the same bait/lure right next to me.
I can't get over the feeling that there is some little thing I could change so I can catch more fish. I love fishing, but it gets discouraging when I never catch anything. Please help me figure out the secret.

Maybe there are not a lot of fish in that area or you are not using the right bait. Try using different colors and different areas if not try a different body of water
Maybe next time you go finshing with your firends, leave the pole behind and just watch what they. Look for the subtle differences. Maybe move your bait over 1 foot, cast a shorter distance, move you bobber up or down a few inches. All of these, although small changes, can make large differences. The most important thing is patience.
your not holding your mouth right
Are you using suntan lotion or pumping gas before you go??? chemical residue left on your hands could be a problem.
Try a roster tail
The main thing to do is have them mark their depth and then mark your line to the same depth with a black ink marker and get right beside them as they may be fishing brush and your not.
Jack
