Settlers Trace still flooded?
Sunday, the only ramp open was State Park & very, very muddy
We just called out to Settlers and they told us it might be a couple weeks before that ramp would be open. He did say that the state park ramp was open however.
I don't see this lake being worth a dime for the rest of the month. go fish the parking lots that you normaly would park in and you might catch a cat!
Fish Hard!
Wasting your time and gas money. That lake is completely and totally blowed out. Seen it last weekend and it gives muddy a new meaning. You would have to foul hook a fish to catch one out of there right now.
The thing that really stinks about this lake being so high...All the hatch from this years bedding fish will probably be wasted when they draw the water back down. If the eggs don't hatch soon enough they'll dry up when the water is gone from the top of them.....Here's hoping that the eggs hatch before the waters is let out.......
The results will be noticed in about 3 to 4 years from now........
So what your saying is that the lake is going to be even worse than it is right now? Can't wait for that.
do they ever hatch, seems everyone i catch is 12-141\2",i think they are just born 12" they don't hatch there, completely different fish.i think they are just travelers from up salt river that have escaped from ponds.
Went out yesterday afternoon to T Ville. We put in at Possum Ridge and rode by Settlers to have a look. The parking lot was completely underwater. I did see the top of one road sign up by where the porties normally are. Water was muddy but really not as bad as I thought it would be. Does anybody know why T Ville is still so high when other lakes around are back to normal. Just curious.
Not sure what lake is back to normal, called wax motel this morning and the parking lot at wax is still under water. They said you can get maybe 8 trailers on the lot. Rought is still like 18 foot over summer pool. The ohio river is still way up too. Taylorsville feeds into the salt river which feeds into the ohio. So it is going to take some time to get everything down to summer pool. Them fish are still feeding, just gotta find them.
It aint the best lake in the state (not even close) but the way gas prices are it's better to be in the dead sea this time of year than working in the yard or other honey-do's. You can catch fish it's just takes longer finding them. I dont know any lake in the state right now that's in good shape.
